Create Hyperlinks & Button Links

Insert/Edit Link:

  1. Highlight the word(s) you would like to hyperlink.
  2. Click the Insert/Edit Link icon and enter the website URL.
    The Target field chooses whether the link opens in the same or a different window. The website standard is to open external links (link to pages outside your school website) in a new window.

Create a link to an external website

You will need to create a "Redirect" to create an external link.

In the blue tab menu, select Redirects, then click on the +Add Redirect button at the top of the page:

  1. In the Source URL field, copy & paste the URL from the school's webpage, but remove https://schoolname.ocdsb.ca/
  2. In the Target URL, paste the website URL that you want the link to open.

New Internal Link Feature Prevents Broken Links

Use this new feature to create internal links that won't break when you rearrange your website menu! Now you can move pages around in your menu and rest assured that internal links throughout your website will continue to work. 

To create an internal link in the body of an article or blog post, click the Internal Link tool shown below. In the Page Link field, select a page on your website in the dropdown menu.
